The Inter-Ministry Futsal Championship in conjunction with the 31st Civil Service Day will feature 11 teams in the veteran category and 12 teams in the open category, the organisers Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) confirmed. Director of Administration at the MoHA Haji Amir Azman bin Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Setia Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Rahman in his capacity as the Chairman of the 31st Civil Service Day Inter-Ministry Futsal Championship explained that the tournament will be a good platform to enhance the potential of players and unearth the talent of players among civil servants.
“Besides enlivening the Civil Service Day celebration, the tournament will showcase exciting competition from all teams in their hunt for glory,” he said during a team managers’ meeting at the Theatre Hall at MoHA.
He added, “The tournament serves as a vehicle to further strengthen goodwill and friendly relations for all ministries.”
The veteran and open categories will be divided into two groups each which will be contested in a league system.
The best two teams will represent the group to advance into the semi-final with the winner subsequently proceeding to the title decider. – Fadhil Yunus
