Twenty youth representatives comprising students from several higher education institutions left for Tokyo, Japan yesterday to participate in the Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths (JENESYS) 2022 ASEAN Inbound Programme of Japan-Brunei Exchange (Japanese Anime and Culture) which will be held for eight days from January 10.
The group was led by Assistant Supervisor of Youth Centre, Youth and Sports Department Mohd Noramizul bin Haji Serbini.
Present at the Brunei International Airport to bid farewell to the youth representatives was Acting Deputy Director of Youth and Sports Haji Mohamad Rosfazilah bin Haji Yusly.
JENESYS is a youth exchange programme organised and fully supported by the Japanese Government to establish relations and friendship among Japan and the Asia-Pacific region, in addition to promoting cultural values, customs and understanding the Japanese way of life.
The youth representatives will have the opportunity to participate in several activities such as orientation; lectures on Japanese culture and art; attending workshops; visiting historical places as well as visits to local governments in Chiba Prefecture, Kamogawa; home visit to Japanese host family and so on.
Business Administration student Awangku Muhd Nurfadhlee Luqman Al-Hakeem bin Pengiran Shaiful Rezal Malek Faesal said the trip will expose him to learn more about Japanese music and culture of both countries.
Meanwhile another student in Professional Design Amal Nadheerah binti Haji Affandy said she wants to experience Japanese culture as well as introduce Brunei traditions and lifestyle to the Japanese people.
