Twenty teams will be vying for top honours in the men’s open category of the Low San Basketball Tournament 2022 at the Brunei Basketball Association Court in Batu Bersurat on November 5.

The much-anticipated basketball meet will make a return following a two-year hiatus due to challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The regulars TK Teahouse and Yi’s Nation x Propel will be the teams to look out for, while Pegasus will be tagged as the dark horses once again for the coveted title.

Following events that transpired during the recently-held You-C1000 Basketball Cup, the teams in the mix should also not be written off as the much-improved Fateh Sdn Bhd look to mount a deep run.

There will be a host of new names with Last Chance, Gong Cha, GKL, Last Ride, Parekoy, Ekonic Sdn Bhd, Flowerdome, Propel x Yi and Bess Thai looking to make a lasting impression on the court.

The trio of Bandar Rocket, Unity and D’Barkadz will also be returning in the domestic scene.

Meanwhile, 10 teams will be challenging for the veteran (above 40) category with TK Tea House fancying their chances to add to their domestic collection.

The participating teams of Concept Computer, DHJ, RYS, Ra’Kin Design, Linktech, Menglait Group, ACCG and D’Barkadz will also look to make their mark.

The tournament will see 56 games to be played, culminating in the finals for both categories on December 9.

The Brunei Basketball Association (BBA), the organisers of the tournament, has also announced the grouping of the teams in both categories.

The tournament will tip off with the opening match between Yi’s Nation x Propel and Gong Cha in Group ‘B’ followed by TK Tea House and Fateh Sdh Bnd in Group ‘A’ in the next match.
