Lions Club of Belait members continued their annual tradition of visiting the rural area in Belait District and conducted eyesight tests on 20 students of Chung Hwa School, Labi on Tuesday, in conjunction with World Sight Day.
The club’s first Vice President Johnny Cheong and Organising Chairperson Past President Joseph Teo, along with three of their members Robert Chew, Chong Yu Khiong and Chong How Churn conducted the tests.
Five students tested needed prescription glasses. The club noted they will receive their glasses soon to ensure their vision is addressed.
Observed annually on October 10, World Sight Day highlights the importance of vision, especially among young people. – Daniel Lim
