Some 20 ‘Aliyah Qiraat diploma students of Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (ITQSHHB) participated in a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony at the institute’s Musolla Hall yesterday.
The ceremony was held in conjunction with the 12th Haflut Takharruj (convocation ceremony) of the institute.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, led by Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) Ra’es Associate Professor Dr Abdul Nasir bin Haji Abdul Rani as the ITQSHHB board member and the guest of honour, followed by the recitation of Surah-Surah Lazim by Khatam participants, led by Muhammad Azib bin Muhammad Azim. It proceeded with the institute’s secondary students reading Takhtim.
Mohammad Syabil bin Shahram recited Doa Khatam.
A Dikir Marhaban enlivened the ceremony.
The guest of honour presented certificates to participants of 30 juzuks memorisation.
Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Haji Hardifadillah bin Haji Mohd Salleh, as the Chairman of the Academic and Examination Committee of ITQSHHB, was also present. – Rokiah Mahmud
