As part of a continued effort to provide aid to those in need, the Minda Raya Drive-Through event saw 20 less fortunate families from across Belait District receive basic necessities last Friday.

Held at the new building of the Belait District branch of the Department of Youth and Sports, the drive-through was jointly organised by the Minda Youth Movement (MYM) and International Reliability Services (IRS) Sdn Bhd, with the families identified with aid from the Brunei Islamic Religious Council (MUIB).

The majority of the contributions comprised a food hamper and a carton of canned drinks, contributed by IRS Sdn Bhd, which totalled around BND1,000 worth of necessities.

In addition, MYM also contributed to the event by providing additional bags of canned food and drinks, all collected from its members.

Meanwhile, in attendance at the event were MYM’s President Awangku Mohammad Hadi Nazmi bin Pengiran Haji Rosli and members, who welcomed representatives from the management of IRS Sdn Bhd Kavitha Balakrishnan and their human resource team.

Kavitha noted that the collaboration between the company and the group served to establish closer ties between them and the community, especially those actively providing aid to the needy.

She also said the company has conducted similar donation drives for other communities in need such as the Old Folks Home in Seria.

Awangku Mohammad Hadi Nazmi also expressed gratitude to the company’s support in the group’s endeavour, and noted that in addition to the drive-through, the group also plans to visit the families who could not attend the event.

Project chairman Awangku Mohd Ihsan bin Pengiran Haji Putra Omarali Mohamed shared similar events carried out by the group and pledged to continue to aid those in need.
