Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam – The Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) School of Business and Economics (UBDSBE) is proud to host the 1st International Conference on Islamic Finance and Sustainability (ICIFS) 2025, taking place from 4 to 6 February 2025 at the Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.
Under the theme “The Role of Islamic Finance in Achieving Sustainable Development,” the conference will convene distinguished experts, policymakers, academics, and industry leaders from across the globe to discuss the unique contributions Islamic finance can make toward achieving global sustainable development goals.
With more than 50 paper presentations across key thematic areas, the conference aims to bridge the gap between Islamic finance and sustainable development by exploring critical issues such as poverty alleviation, financial inclusion, environmental protection, and sustainable infrastructure development. The event will promote innovative financial solutions by leveraging Islamic financial principles of ethical investment and risk-sharing.
