Kampong Penanjong Village Consultative Council (MPK Penanjong) organised its first beach night run on Saturday.
The event, organised by Shahney Event Management, saw 180 participants including three from the United Kingdom and five from Malaysia.
Guianus Salagon won the men’s veteran category while Md Azrol bin Haji Ali was the winner of the men’s open category.
Erin won the women’s veteran category while Diana Siew emerged victorious in the women’s open category.
Kampong Penanjong Village Head Muhammad Ariffin bin Haji Akip flagged-off the run at Pengkalan Pinang Recreational Beach.
Acting Tutong District Officer Mohammad Sofian bin Haji Basri presented prizes to the winners.
Event co-chairman Md Sharol Redhwan bin Haji Md Yussof said the run was aimed at encouraging the community to have active lifestyle as well as strengthen ties among participants. – Rokiah Mahmud
