An 18-year-old was sentenced to four years, six months’ jail with 12 whippings on Monday after he pleaded guilty to committing robbery at a convenience store in Kampong Mata-Mata in January.
It was revealed that at about 2am on January 10, the defendant went to the shop and parked his car in reverse, leaving the engine running bearing in mind his getaway.
In the middle of the check-out process, the defendant pulled a knife from his back pocket and pointed it towards an Indonesian female shopkeeper.
