Eighteen members of the Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) Rover Scout Crew 1102 recently took part in leadership Sekapur Sireh courses and the investitute ceremony for new rover scout members at the Outward Bound Brunei Darussalam (OBBD), Batang Duri Camp, Temburong District.

The courses aimed to help scouts acquire the mental and physical strength needed to overcome any challenges, engage in community work and to become future leaders of the country.

Among the activities that the members underwent were discussions, presentations, first aid briefings, flying fox, basic lessons on compass and map reading, jungle trekking from Batang Duri Camp to Semut Camp and kayaking.

In conjunction with the Day of Action campaign, rover scouts also carried out student service work in the form of a cleaning campaign at OBBD.

At the end of the course, participants went through a process of getting to know each other before being officially appointed as rover scouts. Present during the event were scout trainers of UNISSA Rover Scout Crew 1102 Zainudin bin Haji Ishak, Haji Junaidi bin Haji Hussin and Haji Othman bin Durani.
