The Rizqun International Hotel, in collaboration with the Islamic Studies Department (JPI) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, hosted an iftar for 163 orphans from Year 6 Arabic schools and Year 4 religious schools across the country.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof was the guest of honour.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar, Surah Al-Fatihah, Surah Yaasiin, Tahlil and Doa Arwah, led by Mohammad Zamery Haji Nayan from JPI.
Before the event concluded, the guest of honour and The Rizqun International Hotel’s board of directors presented green packets to the orphans.
The initiative, a charitable contribution by Abdul Razak Holdings, was held in the spirit of Ramadhan to alleviate the financial burden of orphans in preparation for Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
Additionally, the gathering provided an opportunity to pray for departed loved ones, particularly the parents and guardians of the orphans, as well as the wider Muslim community. – Fadley Faisal
