Tabarruk, or charging a decree of goodness from Allah the Almighty and the law on it, depends on its parallelism with what is prescribed based on Al-Quran and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), said assistant religious officer at the Islamic Da’wah Centre in the Tutong District Muhammad Syahirul Syafiq bin Rashid.

He said this during the talk ‘Marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) with Bertabarruk’ from Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque in Kampong Manggis/Madang during Munajat night on Saturday. He said Tabarruk with Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is permissible. “It is one of the Sunnah of the companions of the Prophet (pbuh) and is followed by the Tabi’in and the pious.”

The Munajat night, held for the 150th time by the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA), saw the recitation of Surah Al-Mulk, Doa Munajat, Dikir Syarafil Anam and Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam.

The Brunei Council on Social Welfare (MKM) member Azril Anwar bin Ahmad led the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah.

MKM members, teachers of Pengiran Anak Puteri Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam Religious School in Kampong Mulaut, takmir committee members and congregants of Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque and Kampong Perpindahan Lambak Kanan Mosque, as well as other mosques, suraus and religious halls nationwide, along with the MoRA workforce were present.

The Munajat night invites the public to enhance their spiritual practices, seek forgiveness from Allah the Almighty, read Al-Quran verses and collectively pray for the Sultanate to be protected from calamities, disasters and diseases.
