The Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) held a Sentuhan Kasih Ramadhan ceremony by donating to 140 orphans of RBAF personnel at Surau Al-Barakah, Rimba Air Force Base yesterday.
Commander RBAF Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan and his spouse Datin Ummisyafinah binti Haji Zaini were present. Also present were Service Commanders and the Joint Force Commander RBAF and their spouses, as well as senior RBAF officers and families of the orphans also participated.
The ceremony began with a mass recitation of Surah Yassin and Tahlil.
It was followed with the recitation of Doa Arwah led by Lieutenant Shaikh Shahrul Azhar bin Shaikh Haji Ahmad from the RBAF Religious Directorate.
The ceremony proceeded with the presentation of donations to the orphans by Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi.
The annual event is organised by the RBAF during the holy month of Ramadhan in remembrance of the services of departed RBAF personnel.
The donations, raised from the proceeds of the RBAF Welfare Fund and BAKTI are aimed to bring joy and ease the orphans burden during the preparation of Syawal.
