132 saplings planted for environmental awareness

JPMC College of Health Sciences (JCHS) launched a ‘Grow a Tree’ project as part of its wellness and recreation programme yesterday.

The initiative aimed to cultivate environmental awareness and sustainable development practices among students.

The event began with a speech from JCHS Students Council President Dayangku Nuramalina binti Pengiran Haji Yussof, followed by a briefing from a representative from the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT).

Permanent Secretary at the MPRT Hajah Tutiaty binti Haji Abdul Wahab and JCHS Chief Executive Officer Chung Yea Fui planted a sapling to commemorate the event. Some 132 saplings, including ketapang, pulaie tree and penaga laut, were planted by the students.
