13 locals found without TAP, SCP registrations

Azlan Othman

The Employees Trust Fund (TAP), through the Enforcement Unit, visited business premises around the Mabohai and Setia Kenangan 2 Complex, Kiulap.

The officers inspected 51 employers’ premises and found 13 local workers that employers failed to register and contribute under the TAP scheme and the Supplemental Contributory Pension (SCP) scheme.

The visit was to ensure that every employee had retirement savings and employers registered and paid into TAP and SCP schemes.

The process of registration and payment of employee contributions is simplified using TAP’s online service, e-Amanah by logging into TAP’s website at www.tap.com.bn.

TAP also adviced employers to register their employees to avoid offences that could lead to a BND3,000 fine for the first offence and no more than BND10,000 for the second and subsequent offences.
