Thirteen individuals and four local companies were slapped with compound fines by the Bandar Seri Begawan Municipal Department for disposing rubbish in public areas.
The department said that a total of BND6,000 in fines were issued to the individuals and companies.
Under Chapter 30 of the Miscellaneous Offences Act (Amendment) 2021, the rate of compound for any individual or corporate body issued on the offences under Section 12 or any violation is no more than BND1,000 for individual and no more than BND2,000 for corporate body, said the department.
Fines must be settled at the department within seven days. – James Kon
