Some 13 companies were fined during operation OpKEMAS conducted by the Planning Authority, Department of Town and Country Planning on Thursday.
Twenty companies in Mukim Serasa, Mukim Berakas and Mukim Mentiri which had violated the Town and Country Planning (Composition of Offences) Regulation, 2018, received warning letters. Five companies were issued BND250 fines for their first offence. All parties were given seven days to settle the fines.
The companies were found using, obstructing and placing goods on the walkways, driveways, parking spaces and landscapes meant for public use.
