Twelve teams will vie for top honours in the Brunei Futsal League 2023 set to be held from February 3 to December 4.

The winner of the league, which will be contested for two rounds in a home and away format, will represent Brunei Darussalam in the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Futsal Club Championship.

This was revealed during a manager’s meeting between futsal teams and the Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (FABD) Futsal Competition Standing Committee at the Lecture Theatre, FABD House last night.

There are two transfer window periods starting December 7 last year until February 28, and April 24 until May 24. Two foreign imports are eligible to play for the futsal club, with three under-23 players required to be registered in a 23-member squad.

Each team must name one under-20 player in their 14-man starting list.

The under-20 players should also be given jersey numbers 21, 22 and 23.

Each team’s head coach must possess at least an Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Futsal Level 1 License or FIFA Futsal Coaching Certificate recognised by FABD.

Teams interested in acquiring services of foreign coaches must possess a minimum of AFC Futsal Level 2 License.

Matches will be played at the UBD Sports Complex and the Ministry of Defence.
