11 nabbed for immigration offences

Eleven foreign workers were nabbed during enforcement operations by the Immigration and National Registration Department recently.

A foreign national was detained during Operation Sakat 151/2023, targeting a rented house in Mukim Berakas ‘A’, for suspected overstaying after the cancellation of the immigration pass and for working not with the original employer.

Meanwhile, 10 other foreign nationals were caught during Operation Sakat 152/2023 targeting three separate locations. Four were caught at a rented house in Mukim Berakas ‘B’ – one believed not following the position listed in the work pass, while the other three failed to show original documents.

A second inspection in a rented room in Mukim Berakas ‘A’ led to five being apprehended for failing to show original documents.
