The Prime Minister’s Office recently held a roadshow at Sufri Bolkiah Secondary School in Tutong District to disseminate and provide basic information related to ASEAN to the students.
Over 102 Year 9 students attended the ‘Get to Know ASEAN’ briefing, organised through the International Affairs Desk, Corporate Relations Unit, Media and Corporate Communications Division as the Secretariat for the ASEAN-COCI Information Sub-Committee (SCI). Head of the International Affairs Desk, Corporate Relations Unit, Media and Corporate Communications Division of the Information Department Eddy Iswandy bin Haji Ismail delivered the briefing.
Deputy Principal for Administration Haji Masri bin Haji Mohamad Daud and the school’s teaching staff were also present.
The ‘Get to Know ASEAN’ programme is one of the Information Department’s ongoing efforts to instil the spirit of patriotism and unity among students to appreciate ASEAN’s function and purpose.
A quiz was held to find out how much the students knew about ASEAN and its role in its member countries’ development. It also aims to raise awareness on the ASEAN community in line with the ASEAN motto, ‘One Vision, One Identity, One Community’. – Azlan Othman
