Peak Performance Sdn Bhd (PPSB) is back again for the 2nd Peak Performance and McDonald’s Junior Age Group Football Tournament today. The tournament will kick off at 8am at Royal Brunei Recreation Club (RBRC) main field located next to the Brunei International Airport and the RBA Golf Club Sdn Bhd.
This was highlighted by Junior Soccer Coordinator Pengiran Aliudin bin Haji Samsuddin during a press conference at McDonald’s branch in Gadong yesterday.
“The objective of this tournament is to fulfil PPSB’s and McD’s commitment to support the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD), as well as to enhance our brand awareness and promote our objective in encouraging a healthy lifestyle and provide avenues and platforms for young footballers to compete and showcase their skills and talents,” he said. Twenty-eight teams from various football clubs and organisations from across Brunei-Muara District have registered for the one-day event.
Four age-group categories will be conducted this year – Seven to Eight Years Old (U8) Category, nine to 10 Years Old (U10) Category, 11-12 Years Old (U12) Category and 13-14 Years Old (U14) Category.
PPSB will also be organising its annual Sports and Science Carnival from 11am to 8pm at the RBRC Main Building. The event is organised in collaboration with Nutty Scientist and The Collective. Around 10 gym partners will participate in the carnival including Fitness Zone, Jerudong Park Country Club Sdn Bhd (JPCC), Sports Archery Brunei, The Nerf Wreck Brunei, Dive Tribe Borneo, Kayak Brunei, Puspa United Academy, Super Squad, Dojo Studio and others.
Operation Lead of McDonald’s Sahrizam bin Haji Samat said that McD will be providing limited edition McDonald’s merchandise which include vouchers, mascot appearance and refreshments during the event.
Vouchers booklet for carnival activities will be available for purchase where visitors can try out different activities and games during the carnival. Other exciting promotions will also be offered during the carnival.
Also present during the press conference yesterday was Head Coach of PPSB Junior Jasri bin Haji Abdul Ghafar.
