The role of Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) is to provide an academic platform for students to expose them to practical knowledge, said Deputy Dean of the Usuluddin Faculty at KUPUSB Dr Norasimah binti Haji Omar.
She said this during the closing ceremony of the Ukhuwwah Islamiyyah Camp held at Kampong Tanjong Maya Mosque in the Tutong District recently. She added the initiative provides students with insights and experiences in understanding their role in the society and religion. “It also seeks to enhance their motivation to become agents of development in Islamic knowledge.”
Some 33 KUPU SB students and youth representing Kampong Lubok Mosque and Kampong Tanjong Maya Mosque participated in the camp featuring activities such as mass prayers with villagers, a lesson in funeral management and a futsal competition.
The closing ceremony also saw basic food necessities being handed to 20 underprivileged families. – Rokiah Mahmud
