There is a high demand for the provision of local halal food for the safety of the nation’s food supply. Therefore, the youth must seize the opportunity to generate income in the halal food industry.

This was said by Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) Ra’es Dr Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar during a religious lecture Tazkirah Subuh at Jame’ Asr Hassanil Bolkiah mosque yesterday to enliven the 6th International Seminar on Halalan Thayyiban Products and Services (6th SAPPHAT), which runs until today.

Dr Haji Adanan underlined the importance of consuming halal food as it serves as the foundation for the well-being of individuals and society. It includes understanding and practising the concept of halal and tayyib in accordance with the dietary Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

He continued, ”In ensuring the cleanliness and halal status of the food, it is advisable to source food locally.”

The talk was organised by Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali in collaboration with the Ministry of Religious Affairs through the Syariah Affairs Department, with Brunei Islamic Religious Council (MUIB), KUPU SB, and Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.
