Younnes Ammouta added another winner’s medal to his cabinet after winning the 11km Open category of the Walk, Run & Cycle event and Carnival in conjunction with World Heart Day 2019 at the Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien yesterday.

The Brunei-based Moroccan crossed the finish line with the time of 36 minutes and 40 seconds.

Alhamdulillah, it is a good win for me today. I ran the same route like the Reintegration Run recently and I managed to have a good start. I am happy with the time despite the hot weather,” Younnes told the Bulletin.

His next competition is the ASICS Relay Singapore 2019, where he will be joined by three members in the dynamic sports team event.

Muhammad Haziq Syazwan finished the race in second place with the time of 39 minutes and 18 seconds, while Lau Soon Hau finished third with 40 minutes and 32 seconds.

In the female 11km open, Joanna Hudson finished the race first with a time of 47 minutes and 10 seconds, followed by Kathryn Bewelein (52 minutes and 13 seconds) and Siti Fatimah Mohammad (53 minues and four seconds).

Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar presented the prizes.
