Young coders go on treasure hunt

Dynamik Technologies organised Brunei Kids Can Code Treasure Hunt in conjunction with its 20th anniversary at Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas yesterday.

Forty participants comprising Brunei Kids Can Code Club members with their parents and guardians participated.

The treasure hunt aimed for the children to build their problem-solving skills and apply their coding knowledge within the allocated time frame.

Deputy Permanent Secretary (Higher Education) at the Ministry of Education and Dynamik Technologies Director Dr Chin Wei Keh and Dynamik Technologies Chief Executive Officer Haslina binti Haji Mohd Taib attended.

The activity was created on a digital platform utilised by content creators eBode for self-guided audio tours in Brunei Darussalam called izi.TRAVEL, a mobile application that allows participants to utilise the integrated maps and interactive audio guide to explore the park, find clues and answer coding-related quizzes to reach the final checkpoint.

Brunei Kids Can Code is an initiative by Dynamik Technologies with the objective to teach young students coding in a fun and rewarding way as well as to expand their creativity and critical thinking. The programme kicked off in August 2020 with a coding competition which saw an overwhelming response from students as young as seven and supported by parents.

The event concluded with a prize presentation ceremony to the winners.
