Yemeni officials say airstrikes kill seven

SANAA, Yemen (AP) — Yemeni officials said airstrikes by the fighting rebels have hit a house in the southwestern province of Taiz, killing at least seven people from one family.

They said the two airstrikes took place on Friday in the Khadir district, and that the dead included a woman and four children.

The officials spoke yesterday on condition of anonymity because they were not authorised to brief media.

The coalition has been at war in Yemen against the Houthi rebels since March 2015.

The fighting has killed over 91,000 people, and has driven millions to the brink of starvation.

Spokesman for the Houthis Mohamed Abdel Salam said that the airstrikes wounded a “number” of people.

There was no immediate comment from the coalition.
