Year 6 student’s poem named runner-up in writing contest

Year 6 student at International School Brunei (ISB) Anggun Zabreen Chan was selected by the judges of international writing competition ‘Mighty Write’ as one of the three runners-up.

According to ISB, ‘Mighty Write’ is an annual competition run by literacy initiative Pobble.com and is open to students aged nine to 11. This year’s theme was ‘If I Ruled the World’. The competition received creative submissions from across the world in the form of short stories, poems, letters, speeches, or any genre of fiction.

Anggun’s poem, The Girl Who Changed The World, was published on the writing site.

ISB Head of Primary Michael Everett said, “Nurturing academic excellence is part of what makes ISB so very special. I am delighted to showcase the talents of our students on the world stage, enabling them to excel.”

Writing competitions provide opportunities for young learners to share their thoughts and ideas, challenge themselves and improve confidence.
