Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (Yayasan) presented donations to religious institutions to support Islamic teachings and handed over financial relief to six families affected by fire and collapsed houses yesterday.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yayasan handed over BND81,400 to Imams and mosque officers of 75 mosques, suraus and religious halls in the country to support their role in delivering Islamic teachings.
Meanwhile, Assistant Director of Brunei Investment Agency Ahmad Jefri bin Abdul Rahman as a member of Yayasan Board of Directors handed over BND20,950 to six families whose homes were destroyed in fire or house collapse.
The donations are intended to ease the burden of the families.
