Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah handed over financial assistance amounting to BND40,169 to several recipients, including families affected by house fires and natural disaster, in a ceremony at its headquarters in Jalan Menteri Besar yesterday.
Yayasan Acting Managing Director and Board of Directors member Ahmad Jefri bin Abdul Rahman presented the donations.
Yayasan contributed BND1,000 to students from Pengiran Anak Puteri Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Institute of Health Sciences (PAPRSB IHS) of Universiti Brunei Darussalam to partly fund their community project on ‘Brunei Colorectal Cancer Awareness and Risk Education
for Screening’.
The contribution was received by PAPRSB IHS student representative Nurizzqah binti Bungsu.
The Committee of Khatam Al-Quran of Kampong Bolkiah Religious School received a BND1,069 contribution to hold a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony for 16 students scheduled for September. The contribution was received by Kampong Bolkiah Religious School Headmistress Rozni binti Haji Mat Zahari.
Meanwhile, eight families affected by house fires and natural disaster received BND38,100 in financial assistance.
The fire victims were Pengiran Shahdir bin Pengiran Haji Md Tahir; Lim Ajan; Masnah binti Haji Jumat; Haji Julaihi bin Haji Tuah; Haji Md Khairul bin Haji Emran and Noridah binti Haji Jalil, while the natural disaster victims were Pengiran Siti Hawa binti Pengiran Salleh and Hajah Chuchu binti Haji Abdullah.
