Financial management of funds for mosques, suraus and religious halls in Brunei Darussalam plays a vital role in ensuring their strength, stability and financial viability.
In view of this, the Mosque Affairs Department (through the ‘Idarah’ Division) continued its financial management workshop at Utama Mohammad Salleh Mosque in Pekan Bangar last Saturday.
Participants comprised mosque officials and members of the administrative committee (AJK) of the mosque including chairmen, treasurers, assistant treasurers, and those overseeing financial management matters of the mosque fund, mosque and religious hall in Temburong.
The workshop aimed to increase participants’ knowledge on financial regulations implemented in Brunei Darussalam, especially the rules on ‘How to Implement Financial Regulations of Brunei Darussalam Mosques 1408/1988’ and ‘Rules on Money Management and Administration of the Mosque, 2012.’
The workshop also aimed to streamline regulations, improve procedures, forms and best practices in financial management of mosque funds so that they are more efficient and organised especially for participants.
Head of Idarah Division of Mosque Affairs Department Haji Asminan bin Haji Chuchu delivered a briefing on the financial regulations of the mosque fund.
