Seventeen participants who attended a basic workshop on master of ceremony (MC), organised by Radio Television Brunei (RTB), received their certificates recently at the RTB Research and Development Centre in Kampong Madang, Berakas.
Acting Deputy Director of RTB Cheong Chee Keong presented certificates to the participants.
Course instructor Haji Hasnan bin Haji Suhaili, acknowledging the importance of the master of ceremony’s role in perfecting during the course of an event, said it is necessary for them to know the role and basics of MC.
The workshop also aimed to build high confidence for the participants when dealing with the audience.
A participant, Headillah Zainuddin, a teacher at Mentiri Secondary School, also opined that with the workshop on the basics of MCs, it is not only the role and responsibilities of the MCs that are important, but the ethics and use of correct grammar should also be emphasised to become a confident MC.
Another participant, senior producer at RTB Nur Faralisa Nabilah binti Zulfikri added that the workshop helped improve knowledge. “The workshop is useful in enhancing self-confidence in handling events,” she said.
Corporal 5412 Fauziah binti Untong from the Royal Brunei Police Force said with the workshop, there is a lot of useful knowledge and guidance that can be used as a presenter or MC. She learnt about ethics, sharing principles and protocols, in addition to knowing matters that need to be done and what should not be done as well as adjusting the tone of voice.
