The Language and Literature Bureau (DBP) through the Literature and Magazine Division is organising a three-day Young Writer’s Programme 2022 on Sajak (poetry) Writing Workshop at Sarmayuda Hall of DBP until tomorrow.
Acting Deputy Director of DBP Dr Haji Mohd Ali bin Haji Radin, in his capacity as the chairman and founder of Young Writer’s Programme, in his welcoming address, hoped that the workshop will a provide platform for the participants to gain knowledge and learn from experts in the field of literature writing.
“DBP will provide a platform for literature enthusiasts including activities for children, adolescents or adult level through literature writing competitions, workshops, publish the writings in magazines as well as literature art activities,” said Dr Haji Mohd Ali.
“In line with the objective, the programme provides support and encouragement for young writers to produce quality literature. A special column for young writers in Bahana DBP magazine dubbed ‘Suara Penulis Muda’ has been set since 2020,” he added.
Haji Jawawi bin Haji Ahmad (HJR), as the Head II of Asterawani facilitated the workshop.
The workshop hoped to encourage writers, especially the younger generation, to explore the creative writing process particularly in poetry writing. The workshop is joined by various participants from secondary schools, higher learning institutions, officers and staff under the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
