Lyna Mohamad

Hajah Hassanah binti Haji Hassan was appointed the new president of the Women Graduates Association of Brunei Darussalam (PSW), succeeding Pengiran Hajah Zabaidah binti Pengiran Haji Kamaludin, who served as the president for three consecutive sessions from 2014 to 2022, during PSW’s 14th general meeting at a hotel in Kiulap last Friday.

Two members were also appointed as advisors in accordance with the associations’ constitution.

With the new administrative committee, it is envisaged that PSW will be able to maintain and implement existing PSW programmes, ensuring that the association remains relevant and contributes to the country’s development. The outgoing president underlined this in her concluding statement for the 2019-2022 term.

PSW’s establishment fully supports the goals and aspirations of the government of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam with the association addressing social and religious issues and through conferences, seminars, and knowledge cafes. PSW also draws attention to problems that primarily affect women and children.

The association has undertaken several surveys to seek solutions and stimulate more in-depth discussions.

PSW was founded on February 5, 1990, as a non-governmental organisation and has since then held numerous programmes and social, religious, intellectual, and professional events in line with its goals.
