To strengthen bilateral relations between government agencies and the private sector towards jointly upholding the good image of the government, the public relations committee of ministries and departments held an information sharing session with Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) at the Brunei Malay Teachers Association (PGGMB) building in the capital yesterday.

Twelve public relations practitioners attended.

Acting Director of Information cum chairperson Siti Bismi Nuruliman binti Haji Awang Emzah highlighted that the programme serves as an avenue for government agencies and the private sector to interact and share information to elevate the government image and assist in nation-building.

BIBD Chief Marketing Officer Hajah Nurul Akmar binti Haji Mohd Jaafar touched on BIBD’s role as a strategic partner for development.

She also highlighted BIBD’s commitment in supporting government efforts to attain Brunei Vision 2035 via corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives such as the BIBD Advocating Life-Long Learning for an Aspiring Future (BIBD ALAF), BIBD’s Special Under-privileged Mothers Empowerment Entrepreneurship Development programme (BIBD SEED), and Community for Brunei.

BIBD Government Relations and Special Project Division Senior Manager Dayangku Rodzi binti Pengiran Haji Abdul Rahman highlighted BIBD’s cooperation with the government, such as the Tunas Project – which is a business programme providing entrepreneurs a platform to utilise what they have learnt from their training programme provided by BIBD in a real business environment.

The projects involved the participation of four vendors under the Entrepreneurship Empowerment Programme under BIBD and Ministry of Home Affairs’ Empowerment and Special Entrepreneurship Development BIBD SEED, combination of Entreprenuership Transformation 1K1P, Mualafprenuers Consortium and Usahawan Bakarih Yayasan.
