Haji Mohd Salleh Primary School, (Cluster 2) was named champion of the final stage of the Multiplication Genius competition at Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Girls Arabic Religious Secondary School yesterday.
Meanwhile, Sengkurong Primary School (Cluster 4) and Rimba III Primary School (Cluster 3) took second and third places respectively.
The competition was organised by the Ministry of Education (MoE), through the Programme and Academic Division, Department of Schools.
Twenty-four Year 3 students from six government primary schools, representing six clusters, competed in the final stage.
The competition attracted participation from Junjongan Primary School (Cluster 1), RPN Kampong Bukit Beruang II Primary School (Cluster 5) and Pengiran Setia Negara Pengiran Mohd Yusof Primary School (Cluster 6). The competition was a continuation of ‘Program Bijak Sifir’ implemented in schools to help students master multiplication and Mathematics skills. Its objectives were to boost students’ interest in learning mathematics, raise awareness on the importance of mastering mathematics and foster team spirit.
Director of Planning, Development and Research at the MoE Dr Hajah Sallimah binti Haji Mohammad Salleh was the guest of honour at the event.
