Welfare recipients get job search tips

The Manpower Planning and Employment Council (MPEC) Secretariat with the support of Community Development Department (JAPEM) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) and Brunei Islamic Religious Council (MUIB) at Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) organised a two-day pre-recruitment fair workshop at JobCentre Brunei (JCB) for 26 welfare recipients.

The workshop was held to prepare the participants for the Recruitment Fair to be held on November 23-27 at the BRIDEX International Conference Centre, Jerudong.

The workshop provided them with tools to enter the workforce. It included motivational talks, personal grooming, CV and interview clinics conducted by JCB and local consultancy firm, EPIPEOPLE Consultants, as part of its corporate social responsibility initiative. The first day saw a motivational talk by a representative from EPIPEOPLE Consultants on overcoming challenges of securing employment.

There were also tips on how to prepare for job interviews as well as ways to answer interview questions shared by a JCB representative.

The second day of the workshop focussed on how to make a good first impression including creating and enhancing CVs guided by a JCB representative as well as tips on personal grooming shared by the consultancy’s representative.

Recruitment Fair 2022 organised by the MPEC Secretariat will be held at Hall 1 and 2, BRIDEX International Conference Centre from 9am to 5pm except on Friday where it will open from 2.30pm-5pm.
