Wisdom Bowls Club (WBC) concluded their participation in the Triples Lawn Bowl Classic in Johor, Malaysia with a third-place finish in both the Plate and Spoon categories.

The ‘A’ team featuring Muhd Arrif bin Haji Amli, Muhd Hazmi bin Haji Idris and Hajah Amaliah binti Haji Matali secured third place in the Plate category.

The ‘B’ team comprising Hajah Fatmah binti Haji Ibrahim, Ampuan Hajah Lili Maryani binti Ampuan Haji Salleh and Haji Abdul Ghafar bin Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Dato Seri Setia Haji Mohd Taha finished third in the Spoon category.

WBC sent five teams to compete at the Arena Emas Lawn Bowl Field in Johor Bahru last weekend.

WBC fielded junior players as an effort towards unleashing the new generation.

WBC President Haji Johari Achee said that the club will continue to participate in competitions to increase players performances and help build confidence both physically and mentally for future tournaments.

WBC aims to prepare a pool of junior players to complement the existing senior players to ensure continuity.

Haji Johari added that he would like the Sultanate to be a lawn bowl sports hub and hopes that it will generate a sports industry that can provide employment opportunities and economic activities.
