Chung Hwa School Kiudang (CHSK) students learnt about sustainability and waste reduction through an inter-class recycling competition organised by the CHSK Science Department.
Head of Science Department Leong Yueh Moi hopes the students understand the significance of reducing waste, reusing, and recycling items to protect the environment.
The activity taught students about responsible individuals, while highlighting the role they each play in creating a better living environment.
The school collected 117 kilogrammes of recyclable items through the competition. Year 1 students who corralled 36 kilogrammes of items were deemed the winners.
The recyclables will be picked up by Kawan Bumi Sdn Bhd, a local recycling company.
