Adib Noor

The Wargamas Association marked its third anniversary with a ceremony at Park View Hotel yesterday with Deputy Permanent Secretary (Culture) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) Dr Siti Norkhalbi binti Haji Wahsalfelah as the guest of honour.

The day featured performances by association members and a cake cutting.

Wargamas President Haji Abu Bakar bin Haji Mohd Don shared that since the development of the non-governmental organisation (NGO), the association continues to progress towards uniting all senior citizens in the country to contribute and support the nation’s development, well-being and progress.

This includes the establishment of the Wargamas Association Headquarters at Jalan Utama Berakas, enabling the NGO to further advance the nation’s senior citizen agenda.

To mark the third anniversary, the association will hold an open day at its headquarters from August 29-31.

“The open day will feature various programmes and activities such as motivation and religious talks, as well as vendors comprising small businesses. It will also include the senior citizen 100,000 steps walk and many more,” he added.
