Members of the Kampong Sungai Besar Mosque Takmir Committee held a walkathon to mark the Islamic new year of 1444 Hijrah recently.
Acting Director of Mosque Affairs, Ministry of Religious Affairs Haji Amir Hisham bin Haji Masri was present.
The event began with the mass recitation of Selawat, led by Imam of the mosque Awangku Hassan Basri bin Pengiran Haji Ismail.
The participants, comprising takmir committee members, mosque congregants, Muslimah and youth groups as well as residents, gathered at the mosque’s compound for a warm-up session before they began the walkathon.
The activity aimed to foster closer ties among congregants while seeking blessings from Allah the Almighty through the enlivening of the mosque.
