The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organisation for Vocational and Technical Education and Training Regional Centre (SEAMEO Voctech) welcomed delegations from Cognitive AI Solutions (CAITO) Pte Ltd (Singapore), CAITO Ltd (New Zealand) and Sandakan Vocational College from Sabah, Malaysia, on separate occasions for educational visits and to pave the way for potential collaborations.
The organisations, including SEAMEO Voctech, presented corporate missions and core activities for mutual awareness and to explore future collaboration possibilities.
SEAMEO Voctech also highlighted the centre’s one-stop technical and vocational education and training (TVET) knowledge hub – SEA-VET.net and the utilisation of AR/VR technology in e-learning courses available through SEA-VET learning and SEAMEO Voctech’s Smart Lab.
During CAITO’s visit to the centre on August 14, its founder and Managing Director Christine Bear presented its cognitive AI platform to create enterprise-level systems and solutions for countries, industries, and organisations.
SEAMEO Voctech Centre Director Alias bin Haji Abu Bakar and the SEAMEO Voctech management expressed interest in CAITO’s innovative workforce intelligence system, particularly to provide insights into the Sultanate’s workforce dynamics, to enable better-informed decisions and strategic choices for the future.
Meanwhile, Sandakan Vocational College comprising programme coordinators and lecturers visited the centre on August 28, where they highlighted the college’s courses and initiatives.
Following the presentation, the delegation and SEAMEO Voctech management shared perspectives of TVET in the region and discussed the opportunity to exchange knowledge and information for potential dissemination to respective contacts.
Welcoming TVET stakeholders for courtesy and educational visits are among the Regional Centre’s ongoing efforts to learn innovative practices and best practices from other institutions and beyond to further develop the TVET systems in the region. – Rokiah Mahmud
