Indian Minister of State for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs Vellamvelly Muraleedharan during a recent official visit urged the Indian community to catalyse the strong bilateral relations between India and Brunei.
The visiting minister also briefed the community on the transformative shifts in India.
The Pravasi Bharatiya Utsav event was organised for the visiting minister at The Empire Brunei, attended by over 300 people comprising members of the Indian associations and the community in the Sultanate.
The minister also travelled to Kuala Belait for a cultural gala. He hoped that the Indian community will continue to cultivate the nation’s culture, cuisine and promote the use of millets in conjunction with this year’s International Year of Millets. The High Commissioner of India to Brunei Darussalam Alok Amitabh Dimri hosted a community reception for Muraleedharan to meet with the Indian business community.
The minister also visited and reviewed the progress of the Chancery and Residence Project of the embassy and conveyed his wishes for its early completion.
