Filipino children, aged five to nine, visited the Brunei Darussalam Maritime Museum and Muzium Teknologi Melayu Brunei Darussalam as part of the Philippine Embassy in the Sultanate’s observance of the Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANA Mo).
MANA Mo is celebrated every year in the Philippines since 2017 to raise maritime and ocean awareness.
The children learnt about the maritime identity of Brunei Darussalam and the Philippines, as well as the rich maritime history and marine resources of the two countries.
The children are participants of the Filipino Language and Cultural Enrichment Programme, an annual activity of the Philippine Embassy in Brunei Darussalam for Filipino children in the Sultanate to learn Filipino language, history and culture.
Accompanying the children in the museum excursion were their parents, Filipino teacher-volunteers, and Philippine Embassy officials.
