Visit gives students insights into printing processes

The Government Printing Department received a visit from about 250 students and teachers recently.

The students and teachers were from Pengiran Anak Puteri Besar Primary School in Sungai Kebun; Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Girls Arabic Religious Secondary School (SUAMPRIPAHS); Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah; Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB), Islamic Studies Department and Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB).

The visit began with a briefing on printing processes and services by Assistant Director of Printing Muhamad Faizal bin Haji Saban.

The students toured the department’s Pre-Print Section, where pre-printing processes were done such as providing design, typesetting, editing, and plate printing.

They also toured the Digital Room, Printing Machine Division and Post Print Division.

The students also learnt about the processes of preparing printing products such as folding, cutting, collating, sewing, stitching, gold edging and foil stamping.
