Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (TAIB) hosted an online Doa Kesyukuran via Microsoft Teams amid the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak in the Sultanate.
The ceremony was held in conjunction with Perbadanan TAIB’s 30th anniversary to seek blessings from Allah the Almighty through the recitation of prayers while praying for safety from calamities and diseases.
In line with the guidelines from the Ministry of Health (MoH), the ceremony was attended by 600 employees of Perbadanan TAIB and its subsidiaries via video conference.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by the recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Doa Kesyukuran as well as Doa for the nation to be safe and free from calamities including COVID-19.
Minister of Defence II and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Perbadanan TAIB Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof; Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Perbadanan TAIB Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar; and Managing Director of Perbadanan TAIB Datin Hajah Hasnah binti Haji Ibrahim participated in the ceremony along with members of the board of directors, members of the Syariah Advisory Committee, as well as the management, officers and staff of Perbadanan TAIB and its subsidiaries.
Perbadanan TAIB’s anniversary is celebrated annually to commemorate TAIB’s official launch on September 29, 1991 by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
At the time of its launch, Perbadanan TAIB was a pioneer among financial institutions in the Sultanate in being the first to offer financial products and services in accordance with the Islamic faith.
