Violence against women survey launched

A survey on ‘Violence Against Women’ was launched by the Women Graduates’ Association of Brunei Darussalam (WGA) to commemorate International Women’s Day on Tuesday.

The theme this year is ‘Gender Equality Today For A Sustainable Tomorrow’ with the hashtag #BreakTheBias.

WGA President Pengiran Hajah Zabaidah binti Pengiran Haji Kamaludin is inviting citizens and those residing (during incidence) in Brunei Darussalam to participate in completing the survey which aims to: raise public awareness on the scope of violence against women in the country within the last 15 years; comprehend the experiences of Bruneian women who have been victims of all sorts of violence (sexual, physical and emotional, as well as the causes and consequences of violence against women on society) and; gather findings as a basis for making recommendations to the relevant agencies in dealing with violence against women in Brunei Darussalam.

The WGA president said that responses to the survey has been encouraging with a significant number of submissions on the first day of launching alone. The questionnaire in the survey can be answered either in Malay or English.

The survey can be found on Https://tiny.cc/pswIWDe for the English version and Https://tiny.cc/pswIWDm for the Malay version.
