The Kampong Tanjung Bunut Village Consultative Council (MPK Tanjung Bunut) held a sports fiesta yesterday at the residence of Acting Village Head Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Jumat in an effort to fill in the year-end school holidays and encourage residents to spend quality family time at home rather than going abroad.
The morning event began with a warm-up session through a brief hike to nearby Bukit Silat.
The highlight of the event, dubbed ‘Sukan Ria Kemesraan Silaturrahim Kampong Tanjung Bunut’, proceeded with a variety of fun-filled activities for children aged five and below, six to 10, adults and senior citizens.
Organised by the MPK Tanjung Bunut, the line-up of activities included an open darts competition, golf, fishing empty bottles, blowing balloons, carrying ping-pong balls with spoons, filling water bottles with cups and a treasure hunt.
Children had their share of fun with additional games such as colouring, story-telling and picking candies contests.
