Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chính and delegates visited the Brunei Energy Hub Dermaga Diraja in the capital as part of an official two-day visit to the Sultanate yesterday.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah and Deputy Minister (Energy) at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Matsatejo bin Sokiaw welcomed the prime minister and delegation.
Minister of Development Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid was also present.
Prior to the tour, the prime minister and delegation participated in a high-level forum between the business community and energy companies of Brunei Darussalam and Viet Nam.
The business forum was opened by Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew, who highlighted the strong relationship and trade flow between the two countries.
Acting Chief Executive Officer of Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB) Daniel Leong delivered a presentation on investment and business opportunities focussing on Brunei’s economic aspirations under the Brunei Vision 2035, the Brunei Darussalam Economic Blueprint, and industrial strategy roadmaps encompassing sectors such as downstream, food and services.
Following the business forum, the visiting prime minister and delegates toured the Hub’s Energy Galleries One, Two and Three which house permanent interactive exhibitions showcasing the history of the Sultanate’s oil and gas industry.
During the tour, the prime minister was briefed by representatives from Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd and Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd.
