THE Young Entrepreneur and Women Entrepreneur divisions of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Bandar Seri Begawan (CCC BSB) hosted a farewell dinner on New Year’s Eve for Liu Wen Hui, who will be leaving Brunei for Taiwan after more than a decade working at the association.
Liu started her administration work at CCC BSB in 2006, and has played a pivotal role in the smooth running of the association.
Present at the reception to bid farewell to Liu were Head of the Young Entrepreneur Division Lim Ting Guan and Head of the Women Entrepreneur Division Liew Yian Choo.
President of CCC BSB Malcolm Lim Tiong Han @ Lim Peh Beng, past presidents of the association and the association’s executive committee were also present.
In an interview, Liu said the main reason she is leaving Brunei is because she and her husband have been unable to get permanent resident status in the country, despite living and staying here for more than 30 years.
She added, “I learnt a lot working with the CCC BSB and under different leaderships. I will definitely miss the association.”
Paying tribute to Liu in his speech, Lim Ting Guan noted that she had always carried out her tasks well during the many years she was with the association, and that she will be “missed dearly”.
Malcolm Lim Tiong Han, meanwhile, added that Liu had played “an important part in the years of running the association” especially during “its challenging period”.
During the dinner, Lim Ting Guan and Liew Yian Choo also handed a memento to Liu as a mark of appreciation for her contributions to the association.
