Sayyidina Ali Secondary School (SMSA) held a sharing session for parents and guardians together with the school as part of their ‘Very Important Day with Parents’ programme to help students to study effectively both at school and at home, on Friday.
The programme provided a better understanding to parents and guardians on what their children require at home to ensure they learn to the best of their ability.
Over 30 parents and guardians, with children preparing to sit for the upcoming GCE O-Level Examination, were present. They were welcomed by Principal Steven Shim Sheau Huei.
Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) Chairman Nordin bin Haji Zainal accompanied by staff members and teachers were also present.
The principal said in SMSA, there are three main promises made to parents and guardians – the first is providing a safe place for students to learn.
“The second promise is to make SMSA a cheerful place, so that students are motivated and are in the right attitude to learn.”
The third promise, he said, is to provide the necessary aid to students to enable them to achieve their best results.
To achieve these promises, the school conducted programmes for the students such as providing them with breakfast, discouraging acts of bullying as well as conducting HSE briefings prior to the start of events.
